Fox to release a bunch of classic war films on Blu-Ray

In a tie in promotion with fathers day this year, Fox has just announced the release of several classic war films onto the Blu-Ray format on June 3rd. Hoo rah! Are dads this easy to buy for? Yes! The movies in question are Battle of Britain, The Longest Day, Patton (sweet!), The Sand Pebbles, and A Bridge Too Far. This is not a box set, so each title will cost you $39.98 SRP. No word on if these films have been remastered, so I’m not sure how well older films such as these would translate into hi def. Still, I like the idea, especially with Patton although this looks like a rehash of the original Special Edition DVD.

Here are the individual details for each movie:

BATTLE OF BRITAIN: Presented in widescreen with English 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Audio, English Dolby Surround 4.0 and French and Spanish Dolby Surround as well as English, French and Spanish Subtitles..
