MGM will put this classic romantic comedy on the shelves on January 15th. This Rob Reiner directed classic starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan gets an overhaul with a ton of new features that will cost ya $19.98 in stores or thereabouts. Hey its one of the most favorite films of all time (according to someone at least) so they better get this done right.
MGM is releasing the classic film The Apartment on February 5th in a collectors edition. Directed by Oscar winner Billy Wilder, the film starring the late Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine, in a film that is a “sophisticated and dark romantic comedy provides a satirical assessment of corporate America, capitalism, success and extramarital liaisons. ” Good enough for the film to be included in the National Film Registry at any rate.

The John Frankenheimer Collection makes its way to DVD on January 22nd from MGM as part of the 90th Anniversary celebration of United Artists. This box set will include such classics as The Manchurian Candidate, The Young Savages, The Train and Ronin. This set will be priced around $39.98, but actual disc information is not released yet. Its an odd set of movies that span from the 60’s to the more modern Ronin with Robert DeNiro, but they all share the same Frankenheimer trademark, elaborate car chases and interesting camera angles.
Hey film buffs listen up! Fox is releasing the classic romantic film An Affair To Remember for its 50th birthday on January 15h in a 2 disc DVD package. Considered one of the most romantic films ever, this classic starring the legendary Carey Grant and Deborah Kerr is sure to look super in its new digital transfer. This looks to be quite the nice package, here is what is on it:
